Keep up to date with all of the progress and news on Leeds PIPES heat network project.
Leeds PIPES won “Energy Project of the Year” (residential). Since the project began in 2018, the network has grown to include 30km of district heating pipework, connecting 2,375 homes and 28 buildings, making it a true city-wide heat network.
Leeds PIPES was highly commended in the ‘Collaboration of the year – energy project’ category at the Unlock Net Zero Awards, which took place alongside Housing 2023 on Tuesday 27 June at Manchester Central.
Leeds PIPES is one of the fastest growing heat networks in the UK, so we’re always extremely proud to showcase the project to other organisations, industry experts, and our next generation of eco-champions!
Vital team visited Co-op Academy Oakwood to deliver Climate Education campaign to over 200 children. They learnt about the project before getting involved in a fun game on the range of renewable technologies.
As Leeds PIPES is one of the UK’s largest and fastest growing heat networks in the UK, Vital Energi, Leeds City Council and Ener-Vate shared best practices from the project and why heat networks are a key pathway to the decarbonisation of heat.
