Construction Update: Leeds College House and Enfield Centre Installation and Argyle Street Road Closure

As part of the ongoing works to connect buildings to the Leeds PIPES heat network, our team will be installing a DN40 connection from the existing district heating mains on Argyle Road, Sheepscar, across the road & the footway into Leeds College House and Enfield Centre

These works which will connect Leeds College House and Enfield Centre to the heat network will take place from 7.30am – 6pm, Monday – Friday, with the possibility of occasional evening or weekend work. These works will involve road excavations from 7 am on Wednesday 26^th March 2025, completing Friday 18^th April 2025 at 6pm.

This will result in a full road closure of Argyle Road between the junction at Macaulay Street and the junction at Mabgate  in both directions. Parking will only be available on the KD Bros Car Park on Argyle Road which can be accessed from Macaulay Street. All road car parking will be suspended.

A number of traffic and footpath diversions have been put in place and can be found in the following pages, relating to the work that will be completed within the 24 day period.

We will strive to keep any disruption and noise to a minimum as we connect more of Leeds City Centre to reliable, affordable, low carbon, heat and hot water.

Please note that works vehicles will be parked within the closure on Argyle Road to comply with Construction Design and Management regulations.

Diversions:

Mabgate Diversion:

• From Mabgate traveling north,
• Turn right onto Lincoln Green road,
• Turn right onto to Macaulay St
• Re-joining at the junction with Cromwell St

Macaulay Street Diversion: 

• Turn Left onto Cromwell St,
• Following the road to the junction of Lincoln Green Road where turning left.
• Travelling on Lincoln Green Road continue Skinner Lane,
• Turning left onto Regent St
• Turn Left on to Hope Road before rejoining at the junction with Mabgate
