Cross Green Energy Centre – Planning Approved

The Leeds PIPES project moves forward after planning approval of Cross Green Energy Centre was granted on 5th July 2018.

In January 2018, Vital Energi held a community consultation, giving local residents the chance to view the proposed plans of Cross Green Energy Centre that will be built to play a key role in the Leeds PIPES district heating network.

Cross Green energy centre will be located near to the Recycling Energy Recovery Facility (RERF) and it will utilise the steam produced to serve the district heating network, by converting it to heat and hot water.

The network will be supported by the Saxton Gardens energy centre, which is currently being built after it received planning approval back in May of this year.

Construction of the new energy centre can begin, with both Cross Green and Saxton Gardens energy centre due for completion by April 2019.
